Why Film in France?
France gives you a huge range of filming locations. You can shoot at historic châteaux, world-class museums, modern cityscapes, Alpine peaks, vineyards, and Côte d'Azur coastlines. Iconic Paris sites include the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum, two of the most filmed places on earth.
A rich mix of geography, culture, and setup makes France one of the most flexible places to shoot. Strong incentives and modern facilities back productions of every size.
Historical Sites
UNESCO sites including the Eiffel Tower, Mont Saint-Michel, Versailles, and Roman amphitheaters suit prestige productions.
Island Paradise
Atlantic and Côte d'Azur coastlines, Corsica, and island towns provide waterfronts and dramatic seascapes for luxury shoots.
Modern Cities
Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, and Nice offer contemporary architecture and vibrant street life.
Diverse Landscapes
Alps, Pyrenees, and Provence lavender fields deliver multiple looks within easy reach of world-class transport.
Incentives and Rebates for Filmmakers
France gives your production strong value through proven locations, skilled crews, and full financial incentives. Government-backed rebate programs cut running costs for feature films, television, and commercial work.
You get fast budget relief through clear rebate systems for both home-grown and international productions. The savings protect your creative vision while you spend less.
Rebate for International Productions
The Tax Rebate for International Productions (TRIP) The gives up to a 30% rebate on qualifying spend for projects that meet the €1 million minimum. It covers crew pay, equipment, and running costs for features, series, and animation.
Eligibility and Application Process
You need at least a 5-day shoot in France with €1 million or more in eligible spend. Processing takes about 2-3 months and calls for detailed budgets, schedules, and crew paperwork. A skilled French production partner keeps your submission compliant and on time.
Additional Regional Incentives
We pair the national TRIP rebate with focused regional programs, such as the Loire Valley's 20% expense rebate and Strasbourg's 15% city incentive. Smart planning matches your locations to your budget goals for the biggest savings.
